I have decided to do a ‘What’s in my Makeup Bag’ post to share all of my favourite products. Over the years I have tried and tested numerous products and brands, and it is something that I will continue to do because I love experimented and trying out new things. However, my staple items are here to stay and these are the products that I know I can rely on for my everyday makeup routine. The products are categorised below to make things easier to digest, and affiliate links are marked with an asterisk (*).
It Cosmetics CC+ Cream – I use this product as a foundation, but I was extremely dubious at first given that this product is marketed as a CC cream. I thought NO WAY, I need some coverage in my life and having tried CC and BB creams before I initially thought this product would not be able to give me coverage. However, I was wrong, so wrong. This CC cream is in actual fact a foundation and is amazing, the coverage is unreal, the texture is beautiful AND it doesn’t make me shiny. Hard to find and get hold of but so worth it.
NYX Professional Makeup HD Photogenic Concealer Wand* – This concealer is great for covering dark circles as it has light reflecting pigments, perhaps not the best for covering blemishes so I would not suggest using this concealer for that purpose. I love that this product is super affordable at only £6, it has great staying power and a great range of shades.
Revolution Luxury Banana Powder* – Once I have applied my foundation and concealer I will then use this powder to set my face. I like how this powder has warm tones as I am naturally a cool toned girl, so it gives my face some warmth without making me look like Bart Simpson, lol. This powder stays put all day and creates a perfect base for blusher and bronzer.
Urban Decay Naked Flushed Face Powder* – I love a bit of convenience, so I ADORE this product. Everything I need all in one, blusher, bronzer and highlighter. This palette comes in a range of shades which is great as not all suit every individual skin tone. I think this palette is also great for travelling as everything is together. The palette also has a mirror which is great for on the go too! I find this product extremely pigmented so I literally have to just lightly touch the powder with my brush.
Urban Decay Primer Potion* – I have been using this bad boy for years. If you have oily lids then jump on my bandwaggon, this product will sort you out I promise. Not only does it prevent your eyelids from getting oily, but it also makes your eyeshadow stick to your lid AND it gives a better colour pay off. You can get this product in a series of shades, I have only ever used the original as I like a clean fresh base to prime my lids.
Too Faced Peach Palette – If you have read my post on this palette then you will know that I love it. I love the versatility in this product and how so many looks can be achieved using multiple shades. I also like how there are shimmer and matte shades depending on what kind of look you are after.
Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara – Holy smoke! Best mascara ever. That’s all I’m going to say.
Benefit Goof Proof Brow Pencil* – Great for mornings when I’m rushing around trying to get ready, this applicator makes things so much easier as the product does the work for you.
Anastasia Beverly Hills Dipbrow Pomade – I tend to use this product in the evening or to enhance my brow after using the Benefit Goof Proof Pencil. I used to use this product every single day and although it is great, it was just too time-consuming for me personally.. and sleepy girls like me, well I’d rather the extra 10 minutes in bed.
Benefit 24 Hour Brow Setter* – I received a mini one of these in a set and it’s wonderful. A great clear brow gel that does keep your brows in place all day, without leaving a hard residue behind. I would not be without this product now.
Dr Lipp TINT – I received this in my October Beauty Box and reviewed it (post here). I love this lip tint, it is super moisturising, gives off a beautiful subtle colour and is the perfect pocket size product. It has not left my sight since I received it.
NYX Professional Butter Gloss* – I love the NYX Butter Gloss collection, they are so dreamy on the lip. I love the texture as I have always been put off lipglosses before because I despise the stickiness they sometimes have. This lipgloss is not tacky at all, it sits nicely on the lips and is extremely moisturising – oh AND P.S: they’re a bargain at £5.50. My fave colour is Madeline.
What’s in your make up bag? I would love to know what your staple beauty products are and most importantly why.
