My Winter Skincare Saviour

My Winter Skincare Saviour

Looking after your skin in the winter is hard, especially if like me you’re naturally oily. The winter months can really play havoc with your skin, especially central heating which can dry your skin out so badly!!

I’ve been using the Elemis Pro-Collagen Cleansing Balm for quite some time now since my mum introduced me to this wonderful product and brand. Now it’s fair to say that this brand is priced at the higher end of the skincare spectrum, so I wanted to do a lot of research prior to buying… Now as mentioned, luckily my mum had used it for quite some time beforehand so I trusted her opinion and thankfully I decided to purchase.

I can honestly say that I have not looked back.

Firstly the scent of this product is divine. It’s like the scent of a spa, it’s so warming and fresh and really does lift me up when using this product. The next thing I want to talk about is the texture of this balm.. If you’ve used cleansing balms before (examples: Clinique Take The Day Off or EVELOM Cleanser) then you may know that the texture of the balm is quite hard and it takes some warming up between your fingers to melt the product ready for application. This Elemis cleanser is completely different, it’s much much softer. It melts into your fingers like butter and is so soft. It glides beautifully on the skin and because its so soft it works into the skin lovely without force or harsh scrubbing.

I use this in the evenings once I’ve taken my make up off with micellar water and a cotton pad. I find that using this after I’ve removed most of my make up gives this product a chance to really work into my skin and cleanse it fully. I apply the product on dry skin and then rinse with a warm muslin cloth or flannel to remove all traces. It leaves my skin looking soft and radiant.

Using this product has really helped my skin to remain hydrated during the colder months where usually it would be pretty dry and flakey by now. I would recommend this product to anyone who wants to not only treat themselves, but treat their skin too.
