I fancied somewhere different this year for my annual summer holiday. In previous years I had travelled to Cyprus and Greece, and although lovely, I longed for something peaceful, idyllic and enticing. This year I decided to give Boa Vista, an island of Cape Verde a visit.
Boa Vista actually translates as ‘beautiful view’, and from the images in this post, you will see exactly why this particular island is called this. I have longed to see beautiful white sandy beaches for such a long time, and boy did Boa Vista exceed all. Cape Verde is also a place that maintains a toasty temperature for most of the year, with temperatures not falling below 24 degrees celsius. I visited Boa Vista in July and was greeted with a beautiful and comfortable temperature of 28 degrees.
I mean, look at that beach… Dreamy right?
With not many hotels on the island, I opted for a RUI Hotel which holds a prestigious 5-star rating. The hotel was absolutely incredible, the staff were out of this world with kindness and thoughtfulness, and all other aspects including food, drink and amenities were second to none. With not much to do outside of the hotel resort, I found that this gave me the perfect chance to relax around the pool, and soak up the sun. I must note that there are excursions to be done, but this is not a holiday for those who like to be active and out and about every day.
However, if you are looking for a holiday to rewind and enjoy the beautiful scenery and Caribbean style beaches, then look no further than Boa Vista. I can assure you that you will not be disappointed.
